Abbey’ s Payments team asked TPN to lead the selection process for procuring an end to end electronic payments system. Having managed the initial shortlisting project, TPN’s payments knowledge and focus on delivery made them ideal partners to manage the next stage of the process.
TPN Associate Dave Smith worked with management from the Business, IT and Procurement to meet some extremely challenging deadlines, delivering a complex mix of system and supplier evaluation skills, facilitation and payments expertise.
The process accomplished the production of a Request For Proposal, the evaluation of proposals and presentations, the conduct of a weighted evaluation and selection process, shortlisting, preliminary supplier negotiations and the take-up of supplier references.
Feedback from the IT and business teams at Abbey summed up Dave’s contribution as follows:-

Abbey selected and engaged TPN’s Robin Coleman as Programme Manager for its major programme of Branch Refurbishment – giving Rob and TPN responsibility for successful delivery from a wide range of stakeholders and both internal-external suppliers.
These included – Sales, Property, IT, Marketing, Finance and a number of external consultants, incl Architects, Engineering specialists, Decorating contractors. The programme covered Rebranding, Internal refurbishment, the development of two new formats (Column and Kiosk) and DDA compliance.
TPN were responsible for the implementation of structure and process in the programme. A Programme Office was established with a clear focus on Financial Governance and a strong Communication function. Several processes were implemented, including Change Management and Risk and Issue Management.
