About the Opportunity

As Bid Manager, you will be responsible for winning profitable and deliverable business opportunities. The role ensures that the company is portrayed professionally and with credibility in all customer bid deliverables, within agreed timescales, whilst ensuring the process adheres to company-wide policies.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will be a key part of their team driving the success of the company and will be accountable for leading bids globally across multiple teams within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Commercial team to understand business, customer and competitor objectives.

  • Monitor the potential to win at all stages during the bid process;

  • Facilitate business reviews with the Commercial leads to ensure that a compelling commercial offer, the win strategy and themes are understood and communicated to wider teams;

  • Work with the product solution designers and delivery managers to envision a solution that is in line with customer needs whilst meeting business objectives;

  • Work with Commercial Financial and Legal, develop a winning commercial model for the deal.

  • Develop the overall bid plan and build and manage the virtual Bid Team to produce the bid deliverables in an effective and efficient manner.

  • Own and review the overall response to customer, using industry best practice presentation and review techniques;

  • Work with the commercial team to manage successful bid events which may include for example workshops, demonstrations, presentations, videos and reference visits;

  • Coordinate the negotiation team in the pre-contract stage with the Customer, ensuring that the relevant internal expertise is engaged and involved in the closure of commercial, financial and legal issues with the customer;

  • Assess and manage the risks to delivering a successful bid project, and ensure that these are addressed appropriately under the guidance of senior regional / commercial management;

  • Communicate progress regularly and clearly to the relevant senior management and stakeholders, ensuring that major issues are escalated and addressed.

About the Desired Candidate

  • Experience and success in managing complex bids.

  • Recognizes, understands and can create empathy with Customer business issues.

  • Effective communicator and presenter internally and externally at Senior Manager level

  • Effective relationship builder and high collaboration skills.

  • Strong commercial acumen coupled with effective influencing skills.

  • Strong project and people management skills to establish credibility internally, necessary for managing cross-functional and cross-company bid teams.

  • Full understanding of the sales cycle.

  • Degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Fluent English speaker. Additional language (Spanish or French) - nice to have.

  • An understanding of the Travel industry and Payments is an advantage.

  • Personality and attitude - ability to interpret complex business requirements and manage multiple resources to deliver a strong, winning case to prospective clients.
