About The Opportunity
Our client are looking for a Chief Financial Officer with experience in leading Finance teams within a regulated financial services environment to act as a critical partner to their business, helping to deliver a world-class payments operation to support their brands globally. Leading a small team of finance professionals, the CFO will be directly involved in the day to day operations of the finance team. Reporting to the General Manager, the CFO will be in charge of the financial management and will be the vice-chair of the Executive Committee, as well as being a member of the Statutory Board and various other committees.
Responsibilities
Lead a high performing finance team
Demonstrating ethical leadership and business integrity
Controls all internal financial transactions and prepares, reviews and align financial reports
Manages and oversees all money flows that are under the supervision of the business
Provides the Executive Committee, Board and the shareholder with current and accurate financial data
Manages, oversees and monitors compliant financial reporting and regulatory reporting
Recruit and develop a high performing finance team to serve the business
Fulfilling stewardship responsibilities by ensuring effective compliance and control and responding to regulatory developments, including financial reporting, capital requirements and corporate responsibility
Sharing strategic leadership responsibilities with the CEO and other senior managers and ensuring the finance function supports the business at a strategic and operational level
Ensure the timeliness, completeness and accuracy of financial statements in accordance with general accounting and corporate standards
Engaging and communicating effectively with colleagues, customers, suppliers, regulators, and other internal and external stakeholders
Ensure all payment operations and treasury activities and associated reconciliation controls are completed in a timely and accurate manner
Coordinate and manage both Internal and External audit review processes
Partner with other group companies to ensure satisfactory delivery of outsourced services
Responsible for Statutory, Regulatory and Tax reporting for the business
Ownership of Local Accounts Payable and Inter-Company billing processes
Budgeting and Forecasting
About The Desired Candidate
Academic degree or equivalent level demonstrated in relevant work experience e.g. Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Chartered Tax Accountant
Knowledge of payments/e-money sector in the UK
Knowledge of business development and implementing corporate strategy
Knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards (FRS), UK Accounting Principles (UK GAAP) and The International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
12+ years post qualified experience in a managerial capacity
Significant experience in senior financial management and proven experience in the role of a CFO, Head of Treasury and/or Group Controller, preferably at regulated payment or e-money licenced institutions in the UK
Experience with Financial, Tax and Regulatory Reporting in the UK
Good knowledge of MS Office and Financial ERP (SAP) systems
Sound track record in the development, mentoring and motivation of finance teams
Excellent writing, communication, verbal and written, and organizational skills
Eager to learn new technologies and ideas. Comfortable navigating complicated and nuanced issues
