About The Opportunity

A true Finance Business Partnering position, tasked with delivering tangible financial benefits, and being the primary source of financial support to business partners.


  • Finance Business partner to both Area Managers and Heads of Departments at our Northampton based Support Centre.

  • Full ownership of the Area Managers financial and operational MI, including P&L and operational KPIs as well as the preparation of business cases, and investment appraisal.

  • Delivery of effective business partnering at monthly Business Reviews and Forecasting, identifying risks and opportunities, and working with the appropriate stakeholders to close gaps to delivery.

  • Play a key part in the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with stakeholders to quantify the benefit of initiatives, ensure buy-in, and hold to account on delivery.

  • Challenge current processes and recommend improvements to all aspects of reporting and analysis, with the objective of reducing time on data manipulation, allowing analysis and decision support to be the key focus.

  • Delivery of insightful, accurate, timely MI to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

  • Contributing to ad-hoc financial projects as required as part of the overall finance function.

About The Desired Candidate

Essential Experience:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with at least 2 years post qualified experience in a business partnering or commercial finance role.

  • Strong commercial acumen, willing and able to effectively challenge accepted practices and processes.

  • High level of Microsoft Excel proficiency essential. Experience with the full suite of Microsoft applications included Power BI, Teams, and SharePoint desirable.

  • History of using data driven insight to influence decision making which has resulted in improved financial and operational performance.

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills for managing senior level relationships and difficult performance management conversations.

  • Excellent communication skills including the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.

  • The desire to continually develop and implement change.

  • Ability to prioritise, work to tight deadlines, and maintain excellent attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
