About The Opportunity
We are looking for a Head of Sales, reporting to the Business Development Director, as part of the Senior Team. The role is both strategic and operational, we are looking for someone who can build a strategic growth plan in a new sector and then execute against it. The candidate will need to think broadly but also be comfortable in performance managing at a granular level. The position will ideally fit an individual who is comfortable working in ambiguity, growth focused, driven, with a passion for delivering results through people.
The ideal candidate will have Account Management experience, including managing a team of professionals in business development. A knowledge of the legal sector or consumer finance would be an advantage. We employ a hands-on start-up mentality; the ideal candidate will be both commercial and operational, working closely with the Business Development Director, Senior Team and Board.
Responsibilities
The role encompasses managing and developing existing Business Development Managers as they target B2B Intermediaries and developing approaches to maximise the return from B2B2C sectors through broker-type relationships. A fantastic role with huge potential, ideal for an experienced business development professional to continue their career with an emerging consumer finance start-up. You will be responsible for growing the company’s revenue and profile through managing a team of BDMs and looking for ways in which the company can expand its product and service offering.
Manage existing team of B2B Business Development Managers including mentoring, performance management, training & development and career progression
In addition, manage broker/BDM-type resource to maximise returns from B2B2C channels and office-based relationship management resource
For key relationships, either independently or working alongside the BDMs, manage the clients to maximise opportunities for generating business – selecting the most appropriate intermediaries for potential strategic partner opportunities based on a combination of factors
As part of the Senior Team, proactively contribute to the development of new product and service offerings, and deputise for the Business Development Director as required
About You
Extensive B2B and B2B2C Sales/Relationship Management experience
Demonstrable career progression over a number of years
Proven track record in a target driven role to include an element of New Business
Experience of managing a team of Sales/Business Development professionals
Comfortable leading data-driven performance management
Excellent relationship building and leadership skills
Tenacious, able to work around potential blockages, ability to think on your feet
Excellent communicator at all levels and through all channels, attention to detail
Confident at writing and delivering presentations
Proactive and self-motivated, able to work remotely
Fully skilled in Microsoft Office product suite and CRM systems
The Package
Permanent Salary: up to £90k, depending on experience;
Bonus (discretionary, up to 25%)
Other benefits (£7.5k car allowance, pension, healthcare, etc.)
Location: remote with occasional team meetings, etc. at TSF Yorkshire office or client premises
