About the Role

This newly created role will be responsible for managing the Groups fraud and authentication initiatives. Working in a dynamic environment, alongside product, commercial, financial and technical colleagues, as well as strategic partners, the role will define, manage and execute the fraud and authentication strategy and road map.

 It is expected that the role has a wide industry and product knowledge relating to payment fraud prevention models and relevant payment authentication tools.

 As a subject matter expert, the role will help define and execute the companies Payment Fraud strategy including evaluation of relevant partners and in house build capability.

As a highly technical and commercial role, it will be a requirement that the individual’s market knowledge be kept up to date through attendance to industry events, awareness of market trends and through frequent analysis of competitors.

 

Responsibilities

  • Act as subject matter expert on all things fraud, risk, authentication, security and identity

  • As the fraud and authentication product portfolio owner, define and manage the product lifecycle roadmaps through close engagement with Commercial and other key stakeholders.  Have clear visibility of new countries, segments, schemes and how these fit into the technical delivery roadmap

  • Define the overall Fraud Product strategy through partnership assessment of market leading providers in addition to proprietary in house development

  • Have knowledge of all relevant payment authentication regulations e.g PSD2 SCA

  • Assessment of Fraud risk and authentication process for all new payment types including impact to merchant and internal operational and finance teams

  • Be the bridge between sales and technical, operational & financial teams on ensuring an efficient product lifecycle process

  • Play an active role with the Commercial teams globally to assist the selling and presentation of the product propositions

  • Work alongside technical & relevant project teams on technical delivery items and pipeline related to product enablement

  • Be closely aligned and aware of market trends and competition in the payment ecosystem through market research and commercial engagement

  • Attend relevant industry events, working groups and webinars to ensure product and market knowledge is kept relevant and information is cascaded to appropriate colleagues

  • Where required assist in training and upskilling the product knowledge of relevant colleagues in the group through insightful product presentations.

  • Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure the product features are accurately reflected in first class product collateral and relevant market campaigns

  • Liaise and work closely with the key stakeholders (e.g. vertical sector leads) in order to support delivery of the optimal market/segment proposition - and to support solution definition for any associated technical dependencies for the acquiring product proposition

 

About You

  • Business/financial/technical/marketing university degree or equivalent would be valued

  • At least five years of product manager experience or equivalent

  • Payment fraud and authentication, market and technology experience - preferably in card processing/acquiring/gateway

  • Experience with 3D Secure Authentication and SCA/PSD2 acquired in relevant payment domain (PSP, Acquirer, Scheme Large Merchant)

  • Ability to take complex business requirements and translate them into detailed product roadmaps and projects

  • Experience of product lifecycle, managing release cycles and prioritisation

  • Analytical approach to complex problems, generating pragmatic solutions with consensus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers, business and technical team members across the organization

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an effective communication style

  • Ability to effectively communicate and work in a distributed environment with colleagues located in different geographical regions across various levels of departments and organizations to facilitate meetings with business and technical audience

  • Detail-oriented planner with ability to manage workload, capacity and prioritization with a structured approach

  • Pro-active and organized to function well and meet deadlines in a high-paced environment
