About The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Development Finance (HDF), in the role as Relationship Manager, you will structure and underwrite new loans for our client's Development Finance loan book. You will be responsible for the development of new business through property developer and broker networks and manage these new and existing client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities through property developer and broker networks

  • Consider new deals and prepare indicative term sheets.

  • Prepare applications for consideration by HDF and Credit Committee.

  • Liaise with borrowers, brokers and professional advisers.

  • Manage a portfolio of development loans, including: approve monthly development loan draw downs.

  • Ensure performance is in line with the budget and compliant.

  • Negotiate and structure loan extensions and facility increases.

  • Attend site meetings and manage the customer relationship.

  • Generate new lending opportunities through the existing book and third-party sources.

  • Prepare and present reports on the performance of the portfolio.

  • Critically appraise and provide feedback on colleague’s loan proposals for quality, consistency and accuracy.

  • Travel to the Basingstoke office to participate in team meetings and report to the HDF

  • Any other duties as prescribed by the HDF

About The Desired Candidate

Skills and Experience

  • The candidate will have a detailed understanding of development finance, including development cash flow analysis.

  • Experience of managing development loans and complex loans.

  • Highly numerate with a good understanding of development cash flows.

  • Strong credit and risk analysis, with the ability to identify and mitigate an early warning signal.

  • Loan portfolio management.

  • Due Diligence management and analysis (Legal, Valuation and Monitoring Surveyor reports).

  • Ability to manage borrowers, brokers and our client's professional team.

  • Excellent report writing and general communication skills.

  • Ambitious with a good understanding of the UK development finance market.

  • Strong network of contacts in the development finance industry
