About The Company

Our client oversee large, complex Transaction Banking implementation projects.

As part of their key strategic priorities, they are developing their Gateway products to meet their clients evolving Merchant Service’s needs. Their mission is to become the partner of choice for UK merchants to accept payments across all channels. Specialised implementation project management is core to that mission, and they’re now recruiting for an individual to take the lead and own this fundamental part of their proposition as they grow the team. Working closely with Product Management and Commercialisation partners, you’ll support in building out an enhanced Merchant Services onboarding and support model.

About the Opportunity

You will operate as part of the office function responsible for ensuring as a Bank, our client deliver on their promises to clients when they are mandated their business. The Technical Implementation and Specialist Fulfilment Manager will provide technical, consultative support throughout the pre-sale/RFP stage, ensuring our client set themselves and their clients up for success, providing input to client RFP responses and taking part in client presentations.

At the point of mandate, Specialist Fulfilment are responsible for producing a detailed end to end implementation plan and comprehensive technical scope, ensuring that they fully understand client’s requirements and successfully align the companies’ solutions. It’s the role of Specialist Fulfilment to ensure all risks are considered and managed and that the appropriate teams and partners on all sides of the project are engaged to deliver the solution safely.

Specialist Fulfilment have overarching responsibility for the delivery of the client solution, working closely with front line Sales and Client Coverage, Delivery, Operations and Product Management colleagues. This is particularly true where there is a requirement to engage various parts of the organisation within and beyond the Commercial Bank (as well as third party service providers where required) to ensure complex client onboarding is efficient and streamlined.

Post implementation, Specialist Fulfilment are responsible for carrying out detailed post-implementation reviews with our clients to ensure learnings are recorded and used in further developing the companies operating model and enhancing future client experiences.

Responsibilities

  • You'll work in partnership with multiple Delivery teams and be focussed on client-facing projects for the companies’ clients. You'll need to have advanced technical knowledge of merchant acquiring, complex domestic and international Payables and Receivables products/solutions. You'll be required to manage relationships with external and internal clients, third parties and other areas of the business to ensure projects are completed in mutually agreed timeframes.

  • Support the lead client contacts for each complex implementation and ensure that progress is controlled, driven, and reported regularly in a timely manner to all key partners from the various project and deal teams. You'll take a lead role in professional and consultative approach to client implementation, providing market-leading guidance and support in delivering client and bank objectives.

  • Oversee the client implementation process ensuring that solutions are fit for purpose, clearly documented, tracked, and transitioned to ‘business as usual’ as quickly and safely as possible.

  • You'll support and have input into the development of the Specialist Fulfilment operating model, enhancing the various reporting tools, and simplifying related processes and procedure. In consultation with all relevant internal partners, you'll provide:

      • Professional, consultative input as part of the pre-sales/tendering process

      • Detailed technical scoping of all client requirements

      • Producing and agreeing implementation plans

      • Oversight of the end-to-end implementation process

      • Ensuring that each client implementation is concluded in line with the agreed scope and safely transitioned to BAU

      • Ensuring that revenue is realised for each deal in line with agreed plans and expectation.

  •  You'll also be responsible for ensuring all client business wins are successfully implemented in accordance with agreed plans and timescales. In addition, you'll bridge any gaps between client expectation and delivery capabilities. This will also include resolution of any service or delivery matters during the life of the project; ensuring that relevant parties are mobilised, informed, and coordinated to achieve swift resolution of any issues.

About You

  • Strong understanding of Merchant Gateway Products, in particular the client journey

  • Demonstrable understanding of the platform and technology landscape applicable to Merchant Gateways and recent innovation and digitisation

  • Advanced knowledge of project delivery lifecycle, APM/PRINCE2 Project Management methodology and project tools/artifacts is preferable

  • Strong market awareness (clients, industries, products, innovation, technology, financial regulation) is preferable

  • Complex liquidity structures and working capital management

  • Treasury reconciliation, reporting standards and practices

  • Payables and Receivables industry developments and Innovation

  • Advanced MS Office capability (including MS Project and Excel) is required

  • Qualifications preferred: PRINCE2 (Practitioner), Cert.ICM, Cert.PAY, Cert.TF, CITF, APM PMQ
