Responsibilities

  • Ensure a full understanding and knowledge of eCommerce & Card Present solutions and the competitive landscape to assist prospective clients in making fully informed decisions about affected areas of their business. 
  • Generate leads both directly and indirectly via potential partners working in conjunction with the Partnerships Team. 
  • Prospect, qualify and present value to potential merchants and partners. 
  • Develop, document, maintain and grow a strong, robust and balanced pipeline in Salesforce starting from first contact to closing the deal and go live. 
  • Responsible for development/presentation (both written and verbal communication) of proposals/RFP Secondary. 
  • Work closely with all key internal stakeholders to maximise business development opportunities including Marketing, Partnerships, Product, Legal, InfoSec and Customer Success functions. 
  • Work directly with merchants and potential partners to negotiate contracts 
  • Research, network and gain insights on the fit of solutions in an industry/vertical. Represent at industry events- maintain a strong public profile. 
  • External networking– ensuring you are extensively networked in the industry. 
  • Provide accurate and timely market information to help drive the future. marketing and product strategies. 
  • Work closely with the Implementation, Partnership & Customer Success teams to ensure newly acquired clients are smoothly integrated into the appropriate portfolio

About The Desired Candidate

Experience:
  • Proven track record in a senior B2B Enterprise sales role within the payments. 
  • Deep understanding of direct-to-merchant sales dynamics in verticals with complex operational requirements. 
  • Ideally experienced within FS/Insurance Verticals. 
  • Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and a customer-first mindset. 
  • Comfortable operating in a scale-up or fast-growth environment. 
  • Deep understanding of merchant payment needs across Acquiring, POS, eCommerce and related Value-Added Services (VAS). 
  • Experience with payment platforms or transaction processing systems is highly desirable
Competencies:
  • A highly motivated and driven individual, focused on achieving and exceeding targets 
  • A track record of winning new business and exceeding sales targets 
  • A sales professional with strong commercial acumen and a sales planning approach at sector, channel and opportunity level 
  • A strong understanding of Payments, the ecosystem and driving factors 
  • Experience of selling “Payment Solutions” would be preferential (acquiring, payment gateways, POS, SaaS organisations, or related Financial software) 
  • Strong interpersonal skills that can influence and communicate throughout hierarchy both internally and externally 
  • Highest level of presentation skills; verbally and written 
  • Personable and approachable, with an enthusiastic and motivational nature and an overall passion for excellence 
  • Demonstrable ability to present and negotiate to win new customers, maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and integrity and handling objections effectively
